User Persona Template

Figjam provides a huge variety of free Figjam templates by default. Simply open a Figjam board and then click the 'Templates' icon in the top left of the menu to browse their huge range. Now many of these templates are of the highest quality and are extremely easy to use, one such example is the User Persona template, but it's always good to improve things where you can. So we've taken this persona and added reusable avatars, plus also included a real-world example, so if you're unsure what text goes into each of the sections, just have a read and be inspired.

Personas are one of the most important parts of the UX process, as they allow you to clearly define your users, and ensures they are always top of mind when creating any new website, app, feature or system. So we highly recommend you use personas before defining customer journeys or process maps.

How do you create a persona?
As with many parts of the UX process it's important to remind yourself it doesn't have to be perfect, it's merely another guiding light on your journey to creating something. So creating a persona can be as easy as imagining your most frequent customer and defining their traits, it's not perfect but it's a start.

A better way to create a persona is to interview your users of the system and really develop an understanding of their processes, motivations, activities and pain points, then distil all of those interviews through affinity mapping. Then use these affinity maps to develop your personas.

Whichever way you choose to define a persona, the most important thing to remember is: even a poorly crafted persona is still better than no persona at all!
