There seems to be two general ways to engage in a Sprint Retrospective workshop; you can either partake in a 'Stop, Start, Continue' activity or you can go with the sailboat activity where you highlight anchors (what holds you back), risks, what pushes us forward and what made us feel great. The second option is definitely more visual and more fun, so we advise using this type of workshop if you want the activity to be more engaging and fun.
Luckily we have this free Figjam template to help you facilitate this activity. This Sprint Retrospective Workshop template contains all the elements you need to host and action a workshop quickly and easily. Included is a guide on how to engage in the activity, lots of post-it notes (of course) and also a graphic of the sailboat with explanations of requirements.
So it's all really simple, easy to understand and should help you to produce some useful insights which you can move from discussion into action.
